There is a few way to save your fuel usage for your car / bikes. I just have a bike, a Yamaha 135LC and lucky me because it will only cost me about RM100++ per month compare to car. But I think differently, I think we can save a little bit more. Just continue reading this fact and tips. Maybe you can save about RM20 more if you follow this trick.
Well, I would say, to save your bucks from oil usage, you have to think like you wanna cook a perfect dinner with full of carbohydrate, protein, and etc. Here is the ingredient, and I will try to learn cook a good and balance dinner - although I'm not good in cooking ;)
The ingredient is :
Your fuel consumption - Mine is RM0.067 per KM.
Your total distance to go destination X 2 - Mine is 29.6KM X 2 = 59.2KM.
Your real usage for fuel per month - Mine is about RM115.80.
Your bikes / car maximum fuel can be fill - Mine is 4 litre X RM2.70 = RM10.80.
Your total working day per month - Mine is about 23 days.
By the end of this cook, we should save a little bit more. Just let follow the step by step this calculation.
01Calculate your daily usage - RM0.067 X 59.2KM = RM3.9664
02Calculate your monthly usage - RM3.9664 X 23days = RM91.2272
03Your total saving - RM115.80 - RM91.2272 = RM24.5728
04Approximately my bikes fuel will only last for 2 days, so I should fill - RM91.2272 / (23days / 2) = RM91.2272/11.5days = RM7.9328
The conlusion is I should only refill fuel RM7.90 for every 2 days in order for me to save RM24.60.
How about the car? I just have a tips to make sure that you can save your fuel - Reverse your car at midnight, so you don't have to reverse by early morning. Here is the reason:
Reverse Parking Your Car By Midnight
Here’s something I didn’t realise. The UK’s Institute of Advanced Motorists Limited is advocating reverse parking. The following are the benefits of reverse parking rather than entering your parking bay head-first:
* Data shows it takes about 90 seconds for an average 5-year old car’s engine to warm up and reach its thermal efficiency. According to IAM, reversing out of a parking bay while the engine is cold takes up between 20-25 times more fuel than when it is warm. Apparently driving away forwards will help you save fuel. Could be related to the usually lower gear ratio of the reverse gear compared to the first gear.
* The UK’s Highway Code actually encourages reverse parking. This is because reversing into a parking bay which remains static (just an empty piece of road/cement, nothing will suddenly fill it up) is safer than reversing out into a road/lane which may have constant traffic where you cannot see easily. Driving out forwards into the road makes it easier for you to look out for incoming traffic.
* Reversing close to a wall may make it more difficult for thieves to break into your boot as there will not be enough space for them to work.
* With the amount of crime these days, it is easier to get out of the parking bay as fast as possible driving forward as it is easier for you to see where you are going in case you have to leave as fast as you can for security reasons.
